The Time To Talk Project is an ongoing public conversation that started in 2018 when Alex began to work on the question:

What does it mean to be alive today?’

The conversation has morphed through life-altering cultural shifts, such as the growth of the manosphere, the pandemic, and shifting norms which speaks to a new way of working within generations to help them find themselves amid the chaos.

Four Pillars of concern

Our mental health is an important asset and resource in these disconnected times. Mental health is the overarching pillar of concern for the Time To Talk Project.

The overarching question of the Project is the mental health question: how do we live well today?

Mental health is the topic of highest priority in recent years, but it has been an ongoing conversation for generations.

Good mental health leads to conversations on the aspects of our lives that matter, that keep us motivated, and provide us with the room to tell our stories.

The connection of mental health to our spiritual lives, our masculinity, our work and leadership, and relationships is imperative to what it means to live well today.

  • How Do We Connect With Something Greater and Wider Than Ourselves?

In an increasingly secular and fast-paced world, many people feel unmoored, disconnected, and searching for a sense of purpose or meaning.

Through the lens of The Time to Talk Project, spirituality becomes a practical tool for mental and emotional well-being, accessible to anyone seeking greater connection and clarity in their lives.

  • What does it mean to be a man today?

Masculinity is in crisis. At least, that’s what we are told.

It’s time to talk about masculinity in its deepest, rawest, and transitional moments.

We must ask ourselves the questions to know what it means to be a man today.

  • How can we lead wisely in a landscape that doesn’t reward bravery?

Leadership at work, as in the deeper confines of our lives, is profound. Many of us wish to lead at home, at work, and in our personal lives.

Leadership is one pillar we approach on the project, bringing public conversations to the community to find new ways of working.

  • What does it mean to BE together?

What do we need for Love, Belonging and Connection?

The heart of all of this is relationship.

Time To Talk was birthed through the book and then awakened on the podcast.

The nature of our relationships is the pillar that drives us forward through these uncertain times, challenging us to live deeper and with more intention.

What Is The Time To Talk Project?

The community that Time To Talk has cultivated has become a space to bring healing conversations to the frontlines.

We gather in schools, colleges, universities, workplaces, and community centers to work toward an understanding of the core questions that move and shake our lives.

We speak to the healers, the leaders, the learners, the curious, and the seekers. Fathers, mothers, sons, daughters. Friends and colleagues.

The humans who want to seek the answers to the questions they are living.

If you are reading this, this could be you. If you’re new to the conversations, start here.

If you want to hear more conversations, they will come alive in 2025 when the conversations will be public in our gathering to make room to talk.

connect.

The conversations on the podcast and live in person create opportunities to talk about the issues. In a time where instability reigns supreme, values insecurity, and keeps us separate, togetherness is the key to finding common ground and connection in times of disunity and disharmony.

The Project values learning, growth, community, personal development, and unity.
